The PMI Certified Professional in Managing AI (PMI-CPMAI)™ is designed for professionals who lead, manage, support, or contribute to artificial intelligence initiatives. It provides a structured, tool-agnostic approach for aligning AI projects with business needs, managing data and development activities, evaluating solutions, addressing governance and ethics, and delivering measurable value.

This course is a strong fit for project managers, product managers, business leaders, consultants, technologists, data professionals, and others involved in planning or delivering AI initiatives. You do not need to be a developer or data scientist to benefit from the course.

The course includes 21 hours of instructor-led exam preparation and applied learning based on the PMI-CPMAI™ methodology and Exam Content Outline.

Yes. The 21-hour course is designed to provide the knowledge and preparation needed to understand the PMI-CPMAI™ methodology and prepare for the certification exam. Participants may also earn 21 PDUs toward maintaining other eligible PMI certifications.

In addition to the instructor-led course, participants receive two post-course support sessions designed to reinforce key concepts, answer questions, and help learners prepare confidently for the certification exam.

No. The post-course sessions are additional support offered beyond the 21 hours of required course instruction.

Yes. Participants who meet the course completion requirements will receive documentation confirming their participation and completion of the 21 instructional hours.

Yes. Registration includes the PMI-CPMAI™ certification exam. Instructions for accessing and scheduling the exam will be provided as part of the course experience.

No. PMI membership is not included in the base course tuition.
PMI membership may be offered separately if available, but it is not required as part of this course.

No. You do not need to be a PMI member to take this course.
However, students may wish to consider PMI membership for access to PMI resources, member pricing, and broader professional benefits.

Current eligibility requirements do not include prior AI, project management, or technical experience requirement for the PMI-CPMAI™ certification. The certification is designed for both professionals already involved in AI initiatives and those preparing to enter the field.

We understand that life happens. If you miss a session, we will work with you on available options. In most cases, this includes joining a future offering to make up the missed content, in line with our current policies.
Because the course is interactive and instructor-led, participants should plan to attend every scheduled session. Classes are not routinely recorded. Contact the Snyder Center as soon as possible if an unavoidable conflict occurs so we can review the available options.

No. The course is appropriate for professionals currently working on AI initiatives as well as those who want to build the knowledge and credibility needed to begin managing them. No coding background or advanced technical expertise is required.

The certification exam consists of 120 questions with 160 minutes to complete it.

The Snyder Center offers separate pro bono PMI certification application coaching clinics for students and professionals who would like general support understanding the PMI application process.
Application coaching is offered as general guidance only. Students remain responsible for confirming their eligibility, completing their own PMI application, and submitting all required information directly to PMI.
