Strategic Leadership
Leading Through AI & Transformation
Lead the people and organizational changes that accompany AI adoption and broader transformation. Examine impacts on processes, roles, skills, identity, and trust; diagnose readiness and resistance; and design communication, adoption experiments, governance, and support that sustain change.
Build practical capability
Lead the human side of technology-enabled change.
This course helps leaders connect AI and transformation choices to strategy, work design, governance, adoption, and the experience of the people affected.
Prepare to lead people and organizations through technology-enabled change. Participants explore how to balance innovation with strategy, responsible decision-making, workforce needs, and successful adoption.
What you will learn
Course learning objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
Map change impacts
Identify effects on technology, processes, roles, skills, identity, and trust.
Diagnose readiness and resistance
Use evidence to distinguish understanding, motivation, ability, and support needs before choosing an intervention.
Define responsible leadership boundaries
Make transparency, judgment, human oversight, accountability, and responsible adoption explicit.
Create a useful change story
Explain why the change matters, why now, what changes, what stays, and what support people can expect.
Design and measure adoption experiments
Use feedback loops and meaningful behavior measures to learn about adoption rather than counting launch activity alone.
Plan sustained change
Assign ownership, reinforcement, governance, and next 30/60/90-day actions while accounting for ambiguity and fatigue.
What you will do
Apply the methods to practical work
Work through a transformation case, map who and what changes, and investigate the reasons beneath stakeholder reactions. Build a change story, define human oversight, design an adoption experiment, and choose measures of behavior change. Finish with a sustainment plan covering ownership and reinforcement.
Techniques you will practice
Change-impact scanning: Trace how a transformation affects work, roles, skills, identity, and trust.
Readiness and resistance diagnosis: Investigate the reasons beneath a reaction and match support to the evidence.
Change-story design: Connect purpose, timing, practical changes, continuity, and available support.
Adoption experiments and feedback loops: Try a bounded intervention, collect evidence, and adjust the approach.
Behavior measures and sustainment planning: Measure changed practice and define ownership, reinforcement, governance, and follow-through.
How the course is structured
Demonstration, guided practice, testing, and improvement
Instructor demonstrations and guided activities lead into participant application, critique, and a practical next-use plan.
- Scan the transformation
Use a case to identify impacts on technology, processes, roles, skills, and trust.
- Diagnose readiness
Examine stakeholder reactions and identify the reasons beneath resistance.
- Set leadership responsibilities
Define transparency, human judgment, oversight, and responsible-adoption boundaries.
- Build the change story
Explain why, why now, what changes, what stays, and what support exists.
- Experiment, learn, and measure
Design adoption tests and feedback; consider pacing, fatigue, psychological safety, and behavior measures.
- Plan sustainment
Assign ownership, reinforcement, governance, and next actions for maintaining the change.
Choose an approach that fits your experience
Use a supplied transformation case or an anonymized change initiative. Experienced participants can test conflicting readiness evidence, governance gaps, or adoption setbacks. No programming or AI-system build is required. The sustainment checkpoints belong to your plan; they are not additional scheduled sessions.
Use a supplied case or an anonymized work situation. Keep confidential information out of shared exercises and tools, distinguish evidence from assumptions, and retain human judgment over consequential decisions.
